  2. Register for the reunion.
  3. Book your hotel accommodations.
  4. Review the SAHFR-LR Preliminary Itinerary.
  5. Pay your dues.
  6. Submit your updates for the Blabbermouth newsletter.

We regret to inform you that another beloved member of our family has passed. James R. Jackson transitioned on March 14th, and memorial services were held on March 28th. Charitable donations to Angle Embrace Charity of Wentzville, MO are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Daniel M. Smith Jr.

Greetings family,

I regret to inform you that Dan Jr. passed away on December 30, 2024. Before his retirement in 2018, Dr. Smith served as Professor of Physics at South Carolina State University. Affectionately known as “Dr. Dan,” he was a “Renaissance” man, scholarly, deeply connected, impactful, and proficient in a wide range of fields such as photography, art, and African American Life and History. His published work includes a book, “African-Americans and Charleston: Histories Intertwined.” He is survived by his sisters, Mildred Washington and Etta Waugh, and extended family and friends. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am on January 11, 2025, at Howard University Dunbarton Chapel, West Campus, 2900 Van Ness Street, NW, Washington, DC. Information about the service is available at J.B. Jenkins Funeral Home. Donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in memory of Daniel M. Smith, Jr. would be appreciated.

Update: The memorial will be available online. It starts at 11AM Eastern / 10AM Central on January 11th.

Dauphine Martin

I regret to inform you that Dauphine Martin passed away on September 9, 2024. The Public Viewing will occur on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Byas Funeral Home. The Homegoing Service for Dauphine will start at noon on Saturday, September 14, 2024. It will be held at Calvary M.B. Church in Renova, MS.
